Day 1: Arrive Sydney
Arrive into Sydney by midday and enjoy a sightseeing coach tour. Enjoy uninterrupted 360° city views as you’re welcomed with a dinner at Sydney Tower this evening.(FD) Hotel: PARKROYAL Darling Harbour.
Day 2: Sydney - Port Macquarie
Your day begins this morning with a drive north across the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge, offering you magnificent views of the stunning harbour. Continuing along, arrive at the beautiful seaside town of Port Macquarie, renowned for its wonderful beaches, scenic hinterland and beautiful waterways. (B) Hotel: Rydges Port Macquarie.
Day 3: Port Macquarie - Byron Bay – Gold Coast
Continue north to Byron Bay, a pretty seaside holiday town renowned for its numerous surf beaches, unspoilt native bush areas and relaxed lifestyle. Pass by Cape Byron, Australia’s most easterly point, before continuing to the Gold Coast. Stroll along Surfers Paradise Beach before enjoying the evening at leisure. Day 4: Gold Coast - Australia Zoo - Fraser Island
Visit the world renowned Australia Zoo, made famous by the late Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin. Special Stay. Then travel north to Fraser Island and settle in to your spacious room at Kingfisher Bay Resort. (BD) Hotel for 2 nights: Kingfisher Bay Resort
Day 5: Fraser Island
Located at the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef, Fraser Island offers a rare and beautiful paradise.The rugged untamed wilderness will entice you from the moment you arrive, providing adventure and excitement. Discover this beautiful island with a half day tour and some time at leisure this afternoon. Slip into island living and perhaps explore the hundreds of walking trails, immerse yourself in the ancient rainforests or explore the coloured sand cliffs on Seventy-Five Mile Beach. Perhaps visit the wreck of the Maheno, a trans-Tasman liner that was driven ashore during a cyclone in 1935. Or, you may simply wish to relax on a stretch of powdery white sand with a good book, before donning snorkelling gear to discover one of the island’s many pristine fresh water lakes (B)
Day 6: Fraser Island - Hervey Bay - Rockhampton
Leave after breakfast and cruise back across Hervey Bay. Coninue north through Queensland’s sugarcane plantations to Rockhampton. On the bank of the Fitzroy River it is often referred to as the “beef capital” of Australia. (BD) Hotel: Central Park Motel
Day 7. Rockhampton – Daydream Island
Tour Rockhampton gardens before cruising through the Whitsundays to Daydream Island.Realise your dreams of an island paradise as you settle in to your room at Daydream Island Resort and Spa. (BD) Hotel for 2 nights: Daydream Island Resort and Spa.
Day 8: Daydream Island
Enjoy breakfast overlooking your resort’s Living Reef Lagoon this morning. The entire day is then at leisure to do as little or as much as you like. Perhaps discover the many species of tropical fish when snorkelling of the beach; take a stroll through the tropical jungle to the highest point of the island; relax by one of the many inviting swimming pools; enjoy some of the available water sports or indulge in some pampering with a soothing signature spa treatment at the relaxing Rejuvenation Spa (own expense). Alternatively, enjoy a half-day Whitehaven Beach excursion, exploring the crystal-clear aqua waters and the never-ending pristine sands of Whitehaven, providing the greatest sense of relaxation and escape (own expense). Day 9: Daydream Island – Townsville - Mission Beach
Board a ferry to Shute Harbour. Then travel to Townsville for a city tour before making your way to Mission Beach. (BD) Hotel: Castaways Resort & Spa Mission Beach.
Day 10: Mission Beach – Atherton Tablelands - Cairns
Travel inland this morning to the Atherton Tablelands where you visit Millaa Millaa Falls and the Curtain Fig Tree. Continue to the pretty village of Kuranda with its butterfly centre and craft markets then board the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for a ride over the Tropical Rainforest canopy. Day 11: Great Barrier Reef
A real highlight today as you cruise out to Reef Magic’s activity platform on the Great Barrier Reef. Snorkel over corals with magical marine life; take a glass bottom boat or sunbathe on the deck then enjoy a buffet lunch. This evening enjoy dinner at Tjapukai By Night and take part in a corroboree. Day 12: Cairns - Alice Springs
Transfer to the airport in Cairns and fly to Alice Springs today (flight not included). (B) Hotel: Aurora Alice Springs
Day 13: Alice Springs - Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Ford the West MacDonnell Ranges and stop at a camel farm for an optional camel ride (own expense). Tour the base of Uluru, then head to your resort and enjoy a glass of wine while watching the sunset. Hotel: Ayers Rock Resort, Outback Pioneer Hotel and Lodge.
Day 14: Uluru (Ayers Rock) - Kings Canyon
Rise early to view sunrise over Uluru. Visit the rock domes of Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) and walk to Walpa Gorge before travelling to Kings Canyon. Hotel: Kings Canyon Resort.
Day 15: Kings Canyon - Alice Springs
Explore Kings Canyon today, and see how its sheer walls rise up to 170 metres from Kings Creek. Choose between two guided walks here before continuing to Alice Springs. Hotel: Aurora Alice Springs.
Day 16: Alice Springs – Darwin
Transfer to Alice Springs airport for your onward flight.
